Far too many times to remain legally sane.

the morning’s light.

As I begin to wake up earlier and earlier every day, the massive amounts of light coming in my windows is astounding. Even on a day like today, when rain has been forcasted, there’s brightness to my left and to my right. There’s nothing wrong with it, of course. It’s beautiful. I just wish natue didn’t have to use their alarm clock so harshly. Going to bed late and waking up earlier than the day before isn’t always a good thing. In fact, it’s probably a bad thing - I’m exhausted! I need to write, I need to read, and I really needed that hour of sleep, Mother Nature. But it’s okay, I forgive you, but only because you’re bringing me rain.

My Sims games feel incredibly untouched and are really calling to me today. “It’s okay, Laurie. Play us.” They seem to cry (or is my lack of sleep really affecting me that much?). I find Sims to be more interesting when I have stories plotted out for the people. It gives me more of a grasp on who and why they are who they are. Heck, one of my games is the second generation of a family, and it’s my absolute favorite game! The game started out as a Adult mother, Child daughter, and a Toddler son. Now the son’s married off and living with his in-law’s, the daughter lives next door to her childhood home with her husband and kids, and the mother lives above the garage out in back. Did I mention it’s my favorite game yet?

You see what you made me do, bright light in my window? You made me title my post something odd and end up writing about Sims. Although, I must add one more thing - for writers, it’s fun to make your characters on Sims and play out what happens in your book. Very fun. As the Tumbeasts are my witness, I declare Sims fun! But, I’m only in it for Sims 3.

how to begin.

No one really knows how to begin a blog. I most certainly don’t know how, but I’m trying. Tumblr can be quite addicting, so I’ll make sure and put a limit on how many times I can update it in a day. Hello. My name is Laurie, and I’m a writer. While my real name is Lauren, I’ve never allowed anyone to call me that. Only my mom calls me that, and that’s when I’ve either gotten caught doing something stupid (I do those things quite often) or when she’s very emotional. I usually follow her name-calling with a frown and a, “Laurie, please!” even if politeness isn’t what my tone is always portraying.

I love writing. It completes me in so many ways. Right now I’m writing two novels, one realistic fiction and one historical fiction/fantasy. I’m pretty undecided so far on the second seeing as I’m one paragraph in. There aren’t any titles for it yet, aside from a working title that’s the name of the heroine. Pretty boring so far, right? Nah. It’s been fun working with it so far, but I have better things to do - like working on my first novel. I won’t bore anyone with the details on it aside from the fact that it has a multitude of characters and I’m tentatively calling it { p i e r } . Those curly brackets complete it, I know, I know.

Beginnings have never really bothered me before. I’m the type who’ll dive right in and attack when someone yells, “Ready?” and there’s still a set and a go to be cried out. Well, I’m like that when it’s writing, at least. Besides writing and being a total computer geek, I really like bicycling and being with my friends at all times. I’m a bit of a tomboy still, but that’s alright with me. I believe I’m going to go now before I write too many hundreds of words of endlessly boring chatter. Ta-ta!

P.S. I always sign my name Lauren. Do you find me absolutely irratic yet?
